RECAP

Last evening, I was blessed with the opportunity to perform with a handful of the Twin Cities finest in honor of the release of
The Sharing Is Caring EP, the project
Deto 22 and
myself split duties on and released
digitally November 3rd.
It was a nice full night at
Shuga Records in North East Minneapolis that was free to the public and featured
Spy and
Djo of the Bottomfeeders,
Guante,
Chantz,
Dug Mackabee and
Kai Swivel and myself with DJ
Influence.

Djo manned the turntables all night, spinning the classics in between sets, and set it off quite lovely as folks started to trickle in. Spy handled hosting duties beautifully and got it going on the MC side of things with a fresh opening track before introducing Guante, an MC/Slam poet that is set to drop his new album,
An Unwelcome Guest with Big Cats! in December.

Guante rocked a short and powerful set that began with him spitting in the crowd over a Cypress Hill track, lead into a piece off of the new project and closed out with his
Harry Potter song with the next act up for the evening, Chantz.

It was pleasure to have Chantz there, as his
Good Company EP is being re-released tomorrow on Tru Ruts/Speakeasy Records. I hope that helped him sell a couple more copies. His set included his Eddie Barry partner
Truth Be Told and the incredible producer
Big Cats!, who held it down on the MPC 1000 and laptop. This was the best set I have seen by Chantz yet. Everyone should pick up his release.

Next up, Dug Mackabee and Kai Swivel rocked a solid set backed by Influence on the tables. I had the pleasure of catching these cats perform twice within the first two weeks that I was in the Twin Cities. They support each other, switching off lead MC and hypeman duties and embody the spirit of the project that we were there to celebrate. Influence blended the tracks of their set seamlessly from one to the next.

Shoeless as fuck, I hit the stage to close out the night. My set included tracks from Party Music For Pissed Off People, Shoeless Flow Jackson, Tao Te Ching, some brand new songs, and of course two from The Sharing Is Caring EP.
Here was my setlist:
1. Looseleaf
2. Furor Poeticus
3. The Sound
4.
Words And Numbers
5. Song For The Malnourished
6. Sleep Deprivation And The Artist
7. Tao Te Cataclysma (accapella)
8. Inspired By A Conversation Last Night
9.
Rebel Music
10. The Revolution Will Not Be

The turnout was pretty decent and the crowd was very responsive to all of the acts. I want to thank all of the performers for coming out and everyone who came out to show support. Please take a second to check out links for all of the artists, I'm sure you will feel their music like I do.
November 20th is the Connecticut release party for The Sharing Is Caring EP. Deto 22 will take the stage at Enter The Cypher at Cousin Larry's to rock a set promoting our project. The night will also feature performances by The Presence, Teddy Faley, and more!
