I would like to think that this question is not worth asking, but I know that it is. I have been a part of this American landscape all of my life. I have seen America rise to great heights, and seen it sink to new depths. This moment in history is one of those times when I am reminded of the fact that we have come so far as a country, yet have so far to still go. The intense reactions I have seen to Obama's candidacy have amazed me. The incredible hope and pride in the eyes of some, and the amazing fear and disgust on the faces of others. It is almost as if America's skin has been temporarily been peeled off, and we, all of us are being made to look at everything that has been nrewing underneath it for hundreds of years. I am ready for Obama. If he succeeds or fails as a president, he can not be worse than the guy who has had the job for the last eight years. I am most proud of my country right now. I am also most ashamed at the behavior of many of my fellow Americans. Vote for who you want, just do not tear down the man because his color and name remind you of the fears that have subtly placed in your mind by our society. Have you listened to his platform? Have you weighed his plans vs. his opponent? Have you really thought about who has a better idea of what to do with this country's potential and power over the next four years? Or have you decided to make the safe choice? Are you going to vote based on that little worm eating away at the back of your soul saying...I don't trust him...he's black?

Bobby Horn Nauts fan said I believe that America will really never be ready for a black president. There are so many people in this world who still are racist and do not want to see Obama win the election.

Interesting, I recently heard the statistic on CNN that was something like 94% of blacks thought American wasn't ready for a black president and 21% of whites thought we were. Well popular vote says we are ready, or at least a good majority of us are not only ready but WANT a black president. I think there is a small percent of people who are honest with themselves about being racist. Racisms home in my experience resides in the subconscious, but I also grew up in the North East. I know the south is a different story. But look at the polls, Barack Hussein Obama didn't get beaten badly in the southern states he did lose, and he won virginia. We are ready, and if not people will have to get with the times.

I won't mention any names, but i know a couple, not of relation, who are in their 80s. A white couple, known for making the some off color comments, even on race occasionally. Imagine what they have witnessed in their life. BOTH of them voted for OBAMA. Talk about change

Apparently, Dutch is right! I am glad that this blog has been made moot. Congratulations America. I have to go back and re-work my lyrics to be alittle less pessimistic.

Well i Think that this country is no prepared for a black president even if He have good ideas and expectation to do something good with this nation, my reason of say that is because we have a lot of people who are post in the past wen the black people was just use for work in farms and be slaves. Also a lot of people think that black people a not abeles to do something.
Now for who i would vote i'm not sure because they are base in stuff it was use before. In conclusion I don't know for who i would vote.

I believe that America will really never be ready for a black president. There are so many people in this world who still are racist and do not want to see Obama win the election. Some of these people may even try to kill this man if he wins. However, i do believe that America needs a change and what better time than now. Obama can really be the big change for America that will help this country not only now but way into the future. The only time that America will be ready for a black president is when we actually have one. I believe that Obama has a good chance of being the first black president and he could change American and make it a better place. People need to start looking at the best candidate and not the color of the skin.

it's amazing to me....
as the days go on, more and more of the suburnite folk i'm around most of my day (ie...my "co-workers") keep saying how they like palin more and more everyday.
which is hilarious, cause they had nothing but doubt and jokes when she was first mentioned.
then, i ask, "well what about mcain?...you know he is running for PRESIDENT against obama..."

Although we live in the year 2008 not many people's opinions have changed. Till this day we live with discrimination & racism. We all witness these actions every day. There are kids still brought up to believe that they are better then someone because of their skin color, or if you have more money then the person beside you. Money or a color doesn't make you who you are. Barack Obama's father was from Kenya. if you read into Obama's biography you would come to know that he met his father a couple of times throughout his whole life. The ones that basically raised him was his mother and his grandparents. Which were all white. He wasnt brought up in an african culture so in my personal opinion people are just scared of his skin color. America isnt ready for a change. they rather watch another wihte president destroy our country then watch another succeed.

I believe that America is not and is never going to be ready for a "change" or a "black" president until it actually happens.....Americans fear changes and of course racism even today is a big issue in our society..Westhill I believe is a great example of it...we have the "white" and "black" cafeteria, there are many times where even classrooms are still segregated. WE DEFINATELy NEED A CHANGE!!!but unfortunately we aren't going to have one jsut because the stupid reason of a different color, FEAR, RACISM THAT STILL LIVES IN PPLZ MIND!!.......THIS IS MY OPINION

Interesting commentary from Chris Rock, when asked by Larry King if he was proud because a black man is running for president...

"Um, you know what? I'm proud Barack Obama's running for president. You know? If it was Flavor Flav, would I be proud? No. I don't support Barack Obama because he's black."

Well since nobody else has posted or you haven't accepted it yet Ill say my feelings. I think America will Never be ready for a "colored" president due to the fact of the way it has been raised in a "white" favoring nation. I think Obama has his good things and knows what he is doing but the fact that if he wasn't black he would be the sure winner without doubt. The trust issues plays a big role on him just because of his color and I know from the news that people have been arrested due to the fact of them stating they will be the one to kill him. I believe that one day face it or not we will have a colored president so why not now? But regardless, I think all these politicians are stupid and power hungry. With one question I support my statement. "Who would want to lead America, the MOST powerful nation in the WORLD?" If you find someone who can truly answer that without having something wrong then that will be the day I think different.

Great interview. I'm always awed by the artistry of engineering. Like Hawl, I'm just a rapper, but the process of mixing and the ear that the engineer brings to a project to make the vocals pop and the vocals and the beat mesh has always intrigued m…
