I noticed a review on Okayplayer.com for an album that a cat that Quest did a show with dropped. I checked out the review which was overall positive and a load of comments on the review that seemed positive and posted up that I thought Quest made that cat look like an amateur that night. My opinion was that Quest was the only cat on that bill that did anything at all impressive.
So this dude looks me up on myspace and sends me a message saying "Why do I got to be hating?" That I should look at his myspace plays compared to mine and I am hating. and blah blah blah. . .
So I respond back. . . Why is it that I have to be hating? Can't I just not like your shit?
I am a music fan just like anyone else and I have a load of opinions on music and performance. I buy music. I support musicians. If I don't like your shit, I don't like your shit. Alot of times I don't even measure up to my own expectations. If you have a problem with me voicing my opinions, how about asking me WHY I don't like your shit. I would have went on and on.
And in addition, I will never in my life measure my prowess on the mic in myspace plays. . . grow the fuck up.
I have said this before and I will say it again: the word "playerhating" has done more damage to hip-hop then anything else.
I personally like to measure my ability as an artist by the number of myspace plays I get. That's really the only thing that keeps me motivated to write new music. Or really be a musician at all. If you're not big on myspace then you really just have no talent at all and should stop writing songs immediately.
Stop playerhating and get with the times, Sketch.
It makes you wonder how musicians even existed before myspace began. Its like you go platinum if you get a million hits now. I'm always amazed when people compare myspace to anything real. In my eyes its a joke. antfarmaffiliates.ning.com is where its at yo.
You should ask him how many plays he got on here thats whats up.

PLEASSE give the link to this guy sketch so we can all give our opinion on if he sucks. Wow that sounds cruel. If he isn't rapping about money, cars, drugs, or sex, I might not say anything.
just found who you where referencing.
makes all the sense in the world to us.
a participating member of the "no artist ethic's" problem mentioned on here in the past, he is.
Hey, it should mean alot to you that your opinion counts so much to him. I mean, look at what happened to me. I had someone claim he made the "I Love You" beat and sold it for $500! THAT'S hate! LOL (remember that guys?)! He wanted (and probably still wants) to be me! I live for that shit! I wonder if the artists ever asked him to show them the beat from his MPC...

Our pleasure man! That shit was fun. We got mad lost on the way home, got home about 5am and I'm currently at work since 9am, but it was all worth it. Really great vibe from the crowd and the room. Even the people that weren't right up front were ...
