I was listening to a Jackson 5 song the other day at the bar thinking to myself wow what a great song this is. When it struck me that all though Michael Jackson was such a talented and inspirational artist he will still ultimately die being a joke. Just some creepy pedophiliac with a fucked up face and fashion sense. Then I started thinking of other musicians who will forever be known for having lived and died with grace. The list is so long its mind boggling. Jimmy Hendryx, John Lennon, Marvin Gaye, even Mick Jagger and Keith Richards will be known as the creepy looking drug addicts that beat the system.

So bottom line was I could not think of a single inspiring musician who lived and died gracefully. Maybe it has something to do with the temptation of being drawn towards music maybe it doesn't. Can anybody think of a musician that fits that description? Or even better ones that i missed who definitely lost it somehow.

Isaac Hayes. . . well unless you think he lacked dignity by being on South Park for many years as they cracked on every religion known to man except for Scientology and then quit when they decided that they haaaaad to get on Scientology and telling folks that he couldn't allow them to down "a" religion. . . or unless you think he lacked dignity by walking around daily shirtless in spandex pants, a chain mail vest, a cape, and poofy snow boots. . .

but ummm yeah. . . Isaac Hayes

Great interview. I'm always awed by the artistry of engineering. Like Hawl, I'm just a rapper, but the process of mixing and the ear that the engineer brings to a project to make the vocals pop and the vocals and the beat mesh has always intrigued m…
