8.02.08 @ Larry's
With a whole tour canceling their performances for Saturday at Larry's I was asked to through something together last minute which really panned out to be a fantastic show. I booked Pruven, Sketch, Sub Level (danbury local crew Mic Ripz, J Bello, and Filthy Rich), and Make Amends (a hardcore hip hop based local group) and Kayo was the host.
Even though Make Amends couldn't perform due to complications their main man Brenton did a solo country fuck everyone set at the end of the night which was an odd change of pace but really added to the diversity of the night and everybody ate it up.
Pruven and Sketch did their normal thing by ripping the shit but I was really surprised as to how well Sub Levels performance went. What I was expecting to be a casual Henchmen set(Rips, Bello and Mental Case who is now in Hawaii chasing some poon) set which is basically 4 elements hip hop with an emphasis on dirty grimy ass shit actually turned out to be a punk set basically as Bello gave me loops he did of some classic 80s punk tracks. From there we just had a hardcore freestyle session with every performer on the Mic free styling over everything from Zeppelin breaks to Wu Tang and everything in between.
On another note I've never seen so many girls at Larry's it was somebody's birthday and they where acting like we where 50 Cent or something it was awesome.

I wanna get SubLevel back on at an Enter the Cypher. Did Mattikhan show up Saturday? I love that dude, but I haven't seen him in what seems like forever.

I am upset I couldnt make it cuz I blew a fuse in tha car and had no parkin lightz but then again I would have brought my significan other, shyt I'm glad I didnt go, She knowz I can control myself. I am glad that everything turned out find though.

Naw Matikhan wasn't there I wish he was though. He's on his own thing though I'm sure he'll be back around whenever he's ready. It was pretty cool meeting Filthy Rich though I never met the guy before he can definitely rock some shit though.
