'Why I Write' is my fave track.
Its open & honest. I feel like Quest and I are just chillin' and having a conversation about Hip Hop every time I hear this track. I also love Mercedez at the end. Hearing her just grooving, talking, & enjoying the moment is priceless.
This is as perfect as a song can ever get!
'About Me' is a close 2nd.
One of the strongest opening verses I've ever heard on a song!
When Quest talks about his kids and his grade school years I get all emotional. Its like he's in my head! Like we lived parallel lives. Spaz' verse is icing on the cake. Putting these 2 dudes together gets ya 2 of the best storytelling MC's around.
Yo- I gotta give it up to Sketch. Hew produced my two favorite tracks- Take Care of Bizness and The Rhythm. BTW, according to Terrible T, the Rhythm is killin' it at barber shops all over CT right now!
I love the story telling in Mistaken, too. What's up with Expertiz murdering Protege (in a thespian sense) in that track and then spittin all types of hardcore, gangster rhymes in the next track?!?!? Like, yeah, I killed him, WHUTT!!!
"About Me" is absolutely beautiful. . . an emotional rollercoaster of a track that is easily relatable, at some points humorous, and at others it hits your heart. . .
easily the dopest track Spaz and Quest have done together and one of Quest's best tracks period
My favorite Track is "Why I write". Thank you dutch for Inspiring those words. we was just instant messaging each other and I was like "yo,you got a beat? I'll Write to it right now". when I heard it I was just blown away. the words were just begun to Flow like water. I didnt finish it all that night but it's all I could think about for days to follow. though the Hook is Quite simple It was fun working wit my sons god mother Mercedes on it. Her little words at the end added the extra flavor I was looking for.
also tracks 1-16 are pretty fucking ill too.
thank you gelly for those words. I'm glad that song truly meant something to you, Its Why I Write :)
Honestly, because I've rewinded it soooooo many times and the verses are so fucking fire: "Speak".
Also, "Three Sided". That fucking second verse by Silentuch was very goosebump-raising.

I'm jumping into this discussion mad late but whatever. Its a tough pick but you know theres a reason why when you wanna get your friends up on quest you play Speak first. Thats some raw lyrical shit, hit me hard the first time I heard it. Escape from what is definitely the most powerful. They Lyrics flow perfect with the beat and its mad poignant. I like the last verse on about me, its the most reflective and gets really personal. You almost feeling like you've over heard a private conversation cause he lets you in so much
